Finally! A positive spin on Chrysler and Marriage!

by Karolyn Hart

In my journeys, I get to do ALOT of cool things and meet even cooler people. Last week, I worked with a gentleman named Pat Melfi. He’s the manager of singer Collin Raye www.collinraye.com . I discovered my mother is a HUGE fan and I have to admit I am getting on the band wagon.  After meeting with Collin’s team and learning about his newest album I was impressed.

I ended up working with Pat on something and wanted to share this press release (you see it first!) about Collin’s latest song Mid-Life Chrysler.  On so many levels I love this song. First, it take a positive spin on marriage. What’s not to absolutely LOVE and ADORE about that? A song where the guy isn’t trading in his wife for a younger version or even thinking about. Just the opposite! He’s happiest in his mid-life.  I say - BRING IT ON.

I also LOVE the fact that it looks at Chrysler in a positive way.  With all the doom and gloom in the news I feel like that what Chrysler stands for is being lost.  My family worked the lines at Chrysler, I proudly drive my monster Jeep around town (it really is a monster! I got some sick 33’s and a 7 1/2″ lift on that baby), AND the mini-van really did help change how families travelled.  I should know! We didn’t have one until years later and there were many, many fights that could have been resolved if we had simply had more room. LOL.

Anyway - read the press release below and then I encourage you to go to this singer’s MySpace. It’s the first song playing and it’s just so positive!  (And Ya I know what you’re thinking. Since when did “Ms. Gospel, R&B, Jazz girl go all country?” I admit I am just learning to enjoy it - but heck I’m not alone.  Even Bon Jovi and Jessica Simpson moved over. :-)

Multi-Platinum Recording Artist’s Latest Song Takes Another Look at Chrysler

Nashville, TN – When multi-platinum, award-winning recording artist Collin Raye steps into another sold-out concert these days it’s with a certain measure of humbleness. He is proud of being a 10 time Male Vocalist of The Year for the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music. He’s also had five prior Platinum albums, 25 Top Ten hits, 15 No.1 smashes, and 12 chart-topping videos but he’s proudest of the fact that he created his success by blazing his own trail and never following the pack.

It’s this type of quiet confidence to go the road less-traveled that allows him to create a song about a car brand that no one these days seems to have much confidence in. Certainly, song-writers are not lining up to write songs about Chrysler as the fate of automotive manufacturer looms uncertainly in the future, yet Collin Raye sees it differently. In his song Mid-Life Chrysler Collin taps into the home grown passion that built the Chrysler the brand.  Collin explains his inspiration.

“I remember the day when Chrysler was synonymous with family and good old fashioned values.  I remember when the mini-van came out and how that impacted families. I think millions of Americans have wonderful memories about Chrysler,” explains Collin. “It’s kind of like the challenges people go through when they hit mid-life.  Some people feel the need to change up things thinking they will be happier.  Smart people already know that it’s ok to enjoy the thing’s that have always made you happy. That’s what this song is about.”
Collin’s song Mid-Life Chrysler is a catchy feel-good song that makes you want to roll down the windows on a summer day and sing out loud.  It’s also the type of song that makes you hope for all of our sakes that Chrysler remains in our lives for many more years to come.
The song can be heard at www.myspace.com/collinraye . Collin Raye can be found on the web at www.collinraye.com .
